american academy of
children's entertainment

The American Academy of Children's Entertainment was a trade association formed in the mid-1990s to promote quality children's entertainment. Independent creators of children's entertainment needed support in packaging and promoting their products and increasing attendance and ticket prices at performance venues. Major studios needed help in discovering new talent and new trends. And parents needed help in learning to trust an industry that for too long was considering purveyors of junk.

AACE participated in FCC hearings for the Children's Television Act, launched national publication, marketing and educational programs, and created a theme park and television program to promote the best in children's entertainment.
